first noticed is nothing more than Hector encouraging his brother to be strong, and the two men are similar in their fleeing from difficult situations; although Hector is clearly the stronger of the two brothers. The troops respect Hector for this reason, and are spiteful toward Paris. It is clear that Hector defends his brother out of his love for him, and that he does not believe Paris to be the transgressor in this war.
