As for the dinosaurs as described at the beginning of the paragraph, it was the liver that could not detoxify the toxins or taste the bitterness, which led to a slow painful death. As for the cloud of dusts that covered the earth by the comets or asteroids, it would be like a nuclear bomb that would cover the earth and cause everything to die.
