As society and humanity evolve, so do its social nuisances and dilemma’s. As adolescents continue to seek acceptance and self-worth social groups will continue to exist. Social groups help develop social skills, fulfill emotional needs, offer an environment in which they are valued, provide goals, and give direction and structure to their lives (Kinnear, 1).

definition, you could call Americans gang members. America being the geographical territory we claim. When we feel threatened we tend to turn to violence if negotiation isn’t an option. War has claimed the lives of more individuals and innocent human beings than gang violence ever will. Society should look not at what gangs are doing, but how to prevent them and help gang members, rather then persecute them without a fair chance at rehabilitation.
