visuals tell the story better than any words could, yet the film is bogged down by ultra-intellectual and philosophical speech that is more likely to distance a viewer than the surreal subject matter.
Lepage’s central theme in Possible Worlds is that without imagination, humans might as well be dead. Unfortunately he is only partially successful in proving his point, as this film’s camerawork shows much vision, but is ultimately stifled by stuffy dialogue.
