Another change is that Miller adds the part where Parris caught a bunch of girls dancing in the woods. He might have added this to explain how the Witchcraft Trials start. Also I speculate that Miller chooses to wrap up the play by having all the main characters hung on the same day, so the play would not be strung out but have a strong dramatic end.
