Arthur Miller wrote the play The Crucible based on what happened during the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Is Arthur Millers‘ projection of what happened during the actual trials accurate? Another change is that Miller adds the part where Parris caught a bunch of girls dancing in the woods. He might have added this to explain how the Witchcraft Trials start. Also I speculate that Miller chooses to wrap up the play by having all the main characters hung on the same day, so the play would not be strung out but have a strong dramatic end.
