…to protect their heads. They wore upper body armor to protect them for stab wounds but nothing on their legs because it would slow them down. They also had a rectangle shield to protect them from the enemies weapons. The Roman Army was a well trained army that was very difficult to defeat. They were willing to win and would not give up if they failed. This is what made their enemies fearful of them.
