Had he been born anyone else, he wouldn't have the nerve to dare to be free of the south, and challenge the bonds that had tied blacks to poverty and submissiveness for generations. He was smart enough to take his life experiences with inequality, find the reasoning behind it, and become a stronger person, with a stronger mind, morals, and beliefs all his own.
