STEWARDSHIP
“Trading your Kingdom for a Horse.” The previous passage is a line from Shakespeare’s, Richard III. When the king is stranded on the battle field he calls out; ‘My Kingdom, my kingdom for a horse’. The king realizes that his wealth and power do him no good in his situation. He would gladly give it all up for a practical means of survival, in this case a horse.

accountability back to the workers. It is very difficult for people to give up control of something they care about. In order for stewardship to work it must instill the senses of ownership and responsibility at every level.
Given the challenges of doing more with less and involving the customers, employees must chose to take ownership and accountability. Employees who don’t care, or only go through the motions, will defeat the purpose of stewardship.
