Relationship between Canada and the US from 1960-1963
As the last years of Diefenbaker as Prime Minister came to an end, the relation
between Canada and the US reached an all time low. As the Cold War deepened, the
tension between the two countries worsened. It didn’t help at all when it came to the
personal relationship between Prime Minister Diefenbaker and President Kennedy.

the US had no right to interfere with Canada’s election, just like Canada has no right to
interfere in America’s business unless it involved them. To this day the US expects
Canada to follow and Canada is always willing to help.
It is believed that when a friend is in trouble you should always help, but if your
friend is leading to trouble then try to stay out. And Diefenbaker did just that.
