In the book The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie the reader is introduced to an interesting relationship that develops between the two main characters of the book, Miss Brodie and Sandy. For the most part the story is told from the perspective of when Sandy and the other girls are still in school, but occasionally slips forward into an era akin to the present tense where we are given perspective on the events that occur.

the point of view of each of these girls to give them a chance in life that they may not otherwise have had. Thus one of the major achievements of Sandy's life is entirely a dedication to her teacher. What Brodie did not realize during her lifetime was that the students are supposed to eventually surpass the teacher, which is exactly what Sandy had done which is why there was no transgression on Sandy's part.
