In September 1891 a group of blacks in New Orleans, Louisiana, formed the Citizens Committee to Test the Constitutionality of the Separate Car Law. African -Americans were not considered a human being but a mere property or else they would have granted citizenship everywhere in the U.S. They were not treated equally which can be seen through the decision of Plessy v. Ferguson which promoted immense prejudice against African Americans and ensured to limit their rights every possible way. Overall, the decision of the Supreme Court encouraged slavery and inferior treatment towards African Americans.
