One detail I found puzzling was the passage with Socrates’ closing remarks, as he is found guilty and sentenced to death. This statement comes before a long trial that ahs accused Socrates of impiety. He first attempts to prove his innocence on the charges, but is unsuccessful. And after each side suggests a punishment the jury chooses the side of the prosecution and sentences Socrates to death. showed last 75 words of 306 total…comes in we see a different Socrates. He vows vengeance that seems very uncharacteristic for him. Socrates sees himself as above everyone and never would stoop to the level of the “commons” by doing something so dramatic as vowing vengeance. But Socrates is human like everyone else and I think this is the first sign of this in the entire passage, showing that even the noblest men can have moments when that nobility is hidden.
