In the late 1500’s, male authors were constantly writing sonnets to keep up with the famous craze going throughout the hearts of the audience. One of the legendary sonnet creators in the history of English writing is William Shakespeare. His writing had its own style and individuality that kept the reader wanting more. All his sonnets search for, or describe true love. Sonnet 29 mainly expresses a slight state of depression. However, Shakespeare’s character always overcomes depression when he thinks about someone he loves. Perhaps this shows that in his own life, he focuses on a loved one to overcome some misery.
