After reading a couple of poems the reader would be able to tell if the seaker a male or a female just by figuring out what kind of activity the writer did. Now Native American poems are translated to English so everyone can understand them, even thought they make a bit less sense than they would ion Native American language. Native Americans used poetry to express their love for nature.
