it would have been more effective if Cather maybe had the “hired girls” befriend a woman from the inner city, and help change her life.
My Antonia is an amazing novel which sheds light on the modernistic views of many, and most likely helped women to feel more powerful and that they have the potential to be great. Willa Cather has an excellent style of writing, and she portrayed the characters and the story well.
