Ishmael and my mother made me realize a relation between fiction and non-fiction. By relating Ishmael to my mother throughout the novel, I understood where Ishmael was coming from with his thoughts, feelings, and attitudes. I would suggest that everyone should relate a novel’s main character to a real person because it helped so much with the comprehension of the novel.
