As a white male who has little or no experience within an actual black family unit, I am not sure exactly how accurate media portrayals are. seem to taunt Black Americans, saying “yes…this sort of behavior is okay…go ahead…fill the stereotype…prove us right.” This is unacceptable. Black America needs to stand up and honor the “Black Aesthetic” of art. Something needs to be done to swing the stereotypes back the way they came and portray the Black family as it really is; a well thought out system with years and years of history, strength, perseverance, and pride.
