Both of their rhetoric essentially accomplishes the same purpose, which is to make the non-violent revolution look much more attractive than a violent revolution. Initially they might seem to be two different men with two different ideas and accomplish different goals, but in reality, they are both working towards the same goal, which is to gain their freedom through the power of the ballot in a non-violent way.
