this description, Didion shows that Las Vegas weddings create a veil of illusion over the participants. This veil of illusion makes the situation seem ideal instead of exposing it for the miserable situation it really is.
Though Didion’s thesis might not be immediately evident, through her descriptions of her observations, Didion shows that Las Vegas weddings is not a respectable way to get married. She believes that Las Vegas weddings are tacky and tasteless.
