Zbyszek and he asked where she was going, and didn’t she want to see New York. But Maia said no and she wanted to be the only person on the ship that didn’t. Zbyszek told her that Mrs. Wolska was half-right – Maia was crazy. Maia said, “No, I’m going to be a genius.” And she wanted to be alone to try to figure out how she could pull it off.
