To eliminate any further bloodshed Luciano created the Commission. The Commission was an organization that maintained a peace between the families of the underworld. Luciano gave each head boss a seat on the Commission where they discussed territories and policies. Luciano lost his life to a heart attack on January 26th, 1962.
