…come in the play Macbeth is used throughout the story to keep the audience intrigued. I feel Shakespeare uses this tool for several reasons; so, he did not become bored while writing one of his final tragic play and to leave the audience questioning. Questioning the appearance of the witches, ghost, and dagger, as to whether or not they are what they seem to be, or a hallucination only seen by the main character, Macbeth.
