he is appalled on how the boys turned into these savage people, forgetting about modern civilization and reverting back to prehistoric human nature. But the symbolic democratic civilized fire got them rescued as Ralph intended. The boys will obviously never be the same after their isolated time on the island. Their struggle with human nature and the connection into world politics is quite similar to everyday life in government, the struggle with power and violence.
