Ironic outcome
In a twist that shocked us, in the October 1998 issue of Fortune Magazine, they ranked Caterpillar, Inc. among the 25 World’s Most Admired Companies. Fortune said that they deserved this award because the company showed an “uncanny ability to capitalize on the disarray in today’s markets” (Fortune, 1998).
