Sometimes these needs do conflict, and when this is the case, the organisation can rightfully deny a request for a flexible alternative work schedule. However, with so many choices available, it is often possible to design an alternative work schedule that meets the needs of both the employee and the organisation, and with the benefits these schedules can offer, the extra effort to compromise would be worthwhile.
