Jeremiah warned them time and time again, but nobody listened. Eventually, the Lord spoke through Jeremiah saying that it was too late, and that their land was going to be destroyed because of their unfaithfulness and sin. In 586 B.C., Jerusalem was captured by the Babylonians.
