In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is a thrilling novel as well as a documentary of an historical American crime. The author doesn’t just present the facts of the case, but through his book he makes you feel as if you know both murderers and victims on a personal level. He brings up many controversial issues in the book, such as the insanity plea made by the murderer’s lawyers, and how the court chose to deal with it. In my opinion, Capote is an extremely talented writer. He was able to take a story everyone knew well, and turn it into a book that no one could put down.
