Immigration Americans are traditionally proud to say our country is made of immigrants. We have let a far greater amount of people into our country than any other country has. In 1900-1920 14.5 million immigrants came to America. The current rate of growth is 2.7 million people per year; the U.S. population is already growing too fast.
