The Story of Adam Farmer Adam Farmer is the main character throughout the entire book. In the beginning of the book, the character of Adam is portrayed to be a normal teenager, but later through the book the reader learns that it is quite a different story. …the way he fools the doctor. Adam is very timid, never really stands up for himself, and has no friends until he meets Amy. He never did well in school because of his personality. I believe Adam is a very strange and troubled teenager in this book. I am not sure if Adam really has mental problems or if he is just faking. There are many hints throughout the story to signify Adam either way.
