As a member of the State University Dance Force (the dance team), I am outraged at the way the university treats us. They won’t let us practice anywhere but a place that is unsafe for dancing. As for scholarships or credit hours, which other sports teams receive, they are nonexistent if you are on the dance team. I think if people made an effort to say they wanted to see more of the dance team, or that we should be treated like any other sport on campus, the university might change their minds about us. Apparently, our opinion doesn’t matter, but maybe those of other students and faculty will. We enjoy being people’s entertainment, we just wish the university would allow us to be.
