When Frankenstein died, the Monster lost the only person who he was able to interact with and who could help him and he decided that life was not worth living knowing that he would never be accepted into society. Because Frankenstein's monster could not change his physical appearance, no matter how hard he tried, he could never have been able to fit into a society.
