How necessary was Britain’s policy of appeasement towards Germany in the 1930s?
Appeasement was the honourable policy of recognising that a country has grievances, which should be addressed so that negotiations can be brought around to avoid war. Britain really wanted to avoid war after the damage and devastation caused to them during World War One.

Although later on when Hitler started asking for more I don’t think that they should have appeased Hitler because it just gave him more power and encouragement to get away with more. Appeased did avoid war in the short terms but it just made things worse in the long run when World War Two started as Germany were stronger so do I think that appeasement was the best option.
