I think it is fair to say that one must allow time to pass before one writes his autobiography because writing when you are writing about yourself, you need to look back on things that you have done. The longer that time elapsed, the more things you can write about yourself, also time gives you knowledge and experience in understanding what that has happened or reaching an epiphany.
