But many people don’t know that Melville wrote many other books, and they all have meaning in one way or another. After reading two of these stories, “Bartleby” and Moby Dick, I have come across many different ideas that Melville portrayed in his works that I can apply in my own life. famous long after his death, his goal was still achieved. Herman Melville was truly a great man and writer. He did what he loved throughout most of his life and made an impact on his culture around him. And now over one hundred years later he is still making a difference in people’s lives. By reading his works he has deeply touched my life in more ways than anyone could possibly imagine.
