later works, the poems seem to have real stories and emotions behind them, the subjects are real to him as he seems to have actually experienced them first hand. When comparing this to his earlier works the poems seem to be metaphors for his experiences instead. “Home Burial”and “In Hardwood Groves” are perfect example of this as “In Hardwood Groves” seems to be a metaphorical explanation for why the argument in “Home Burial”occurred.
