The fifth and final pillar is hajj or pilgrimage. The pilgrimage is a trip to Mecca in a spiritual journey following the way of Muhammad. A Muslims is supposed to go on hajj at least once in their life if at all possible. However, if one is unable to have the means to travel to Mecca, there are other substitutes that will also be accepted.
