Symbolism imaginatively portrays certain physically unrelated aspects in a Modernistically fragmented way. Irony makes fun at certain aspects to create the mock-hero (the modern version of the hero); he also uses allusion, rhetorics and metaphors to create this pessimistic view of the modern world and this old man - Prufrock.
