The issues of equality in the workplace and affirmative action have been hovering over the working world’s head for many years now. The controversy seems to be nonstop, and many wonder if it is really doing anybody any good. Although the positive and necessary benefits of equality and equal opportunity are shown in many situations, there are an equal number of incidents that turn out being a complete and total disaster.

Affirmative action policies were designed to take the employment advantage away from the Caucasians, and create a system of equality. However, situations such as this one make it seem as if the “employment advantage” has not been eliminated, but it has merely been passes from one group to the other. All throughout the workforce, women and minorities are given jobs to “fulfill a quota,” not because they had more experience or work harder.
