poet’s work. I also found it to be interesting that, though most poets work within the English language, Dickinson felt it necessary to create new words. It is almost as if she felt confined to the normal linguistic system, and needed new terminology and vocabulary for the fundamental nature of her poems to be felt. This was a unique trait that few poets of her time, and truly any time period, chose to do.
