In the novella “The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” the author Robert Louis Stevenson is attempting to say that at the time most noblemen seemed to be fine and upstanding citizens, but inside they hid dark secrets. If one would let this evil side act it would eventually dominate. Stevenson creates this image by means of two main characters, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde who are both by appearance and personality different.

his level of intelligence, and his personality. Yet Stevenson’s story doesn’t have a happy ending. Indeed Satan’s dominance over the body of Dr. Jekyll eventually pays its price. Soon Jekyll has no control over Hyde, who appears by himself whenever Jekyll dozes off to sleep. Finally Hyde causes Jekyll to commit suicide.
