The Native Americans were the original inhabitants of the what we call today the United States. They were a people who possessed their own distinct culture who lived amongst each other in different tribes based upon their geographical location. …high rate of unemployment and alcoholism is a problem that has existed on reservations since there induction. Native Americans were entitled to something but not what they received. There land was taken from them and suffering was brought upon them. They deserved something. I do not know the answer to what or how the treatment of the Native Americans should have been different but it should have been better and reservations were not the answer.
