During the course of the nineteenth century, power swayed back and forth
between the Liberals and the Conservatives. Gladstone of the Liberal party and Disraeli of the
Conservative party had different views, and passed different acts. Where Gladstone focused
more on Domestic policies, Disraeli payed much attention to Foreign affairs. Though different in
political views, both Gladstone and Disraeli helped England on its way to becoming a
democracy.
