…survive. In conclusion, the Roman Empire declined for many different reasons. The Germanic invasions and the growth of Christianity had a large part to do with the decline. Many can argue the empire did not fall, but the fact is that main parts of the system did not survive, only bit and pieces. A system in order to work has to remain whole.
