Europeans discovered products from the middle East- rice, sugar, lemons, apricots, and melons, among other things;which stimulated trade in such goods. Cotton cloth and other such raw materual were also introduced through Europe after the crusades. So in short the crusades may have been a war of relgion that caused many problems it also brought about many solutions.
