In many ways, the two tales were very different. The theme, plot, and endings were very much on opposite ends of the spectrum. However, the characterization that Chaucer implemented in both tales was extremely similar. The vivid use of imagery to describe the women was very well written and the reader can easily understand and relate to the similes.
