“Closer” Acting Critique
Closer, performed on November 26, 2000 at the Mark Taper Forum was an overall excellent show. The show is about two men and two women who are thrown together by chance. Throughout the play they connect, disconnect and reconnect in bewildering combinations with each other as they try to get “closer” All their privacies as well as secrets are brought out in the open and nothing is hidden. It is presented to the audience

in the performance where the actor was talking on the phone with his receptionist. I felt that he did not listen to him/her on the other side of the line. There was no beat that existed inbetween replies. It was actually quite ridiculous to see him do this.
Overall I found very little flaws that could be corrected in this show and it is worth anyone’s time and money to go see it.
