~Character Journal~ Huckleberry Finn Huck is the main character and narrator of the story. He is a 14-year-old boy who lives in the town of St. Petersburg, Missouri. …religious training, and a being willing to follow rules. But he's thing that all this doesn't measure up so he thinks negatively about himself. If Huck understood that his inner quality is what counts he'd be more interested in changing society than in running away from it. But because he accepts what he's been taught, he sees himself as an outsider and he would rather run away and be be free of society and civilization.
