In 1949, the Guomindang (Nationalist) party in China was defeated by the Communists. There were several diverse reasons for this. One of the main reasons that they lost was the lack of the lack of support of the peasants. Another major reason was the embezzlement of the money and foreign aid which mainly came from the US. Also, Communists controlled more land in China and therefore has more area of influence.

Also, the CCP had more territory in China after the Japanese defeat so they had more area of influence. The People’s Republic of China was established in October 1949 by the Chinese Communists Party after a great amount of battles and civil wars against the GMD because they were a very strong force; but yet they had many problems within their party.
