Possibly, if Blanche dealt with her pain differently, her troubles wouldn't have affected her they way they did. If she had been more realistic, instead of ignoring her hardships by lying; escaping her hardships by drinking and bathing; and filling voids by fornicating, her life could have been happier and more like the one she painted.
