If I had to pick one out of the many stories that we have read and say that it moved me the most, I would have to say that the story would have to be “Battle Royal”. No matter what hardships the boy endured, he kept his mind on his final goal, the speech that would set him free. This was the mainstream way of thinking of the black Americans of the time. No matter how much they were kept down by the whites, they kept their minds on their final goal,social equality.
